Why My Boot Camp Will Provide
The Ultimate Business Development Plan
Are
you constantly searching for the right information and it seems like
you can never find it?
If
you were like me, you're probably spending too much precious time
trying to find the right business information about building a successful
construction business.
I
know I've been there. I spent countless hours and thousands of dollars
seeking this "Holy Grail" of information. In my younger
years, as a contractor, I knew I needed it to reach my goals. I attended
just about every construction trade convention, seminar, symposium,
and conference looking for it. And to no avail, I found only bits
and pieces of information which I drudgery carried back to my office
to ponder over in greater detail.
I
sifted through this information and threw out the crap and reconstructed
the best info I could salvage. I spent hours thinking, rethinking,
reconstructing, reformatting and trying different aspects of the numerous
ideas my brain was flooded with from all of these seminars. I mixed
it with real life situations and modified it so I could make it work.
The
truth is, it is almost impossible to get the help you need in a typical
90 minute presentation. I know, because I now do them for the construction
industry. You need more time for real world ideas, processes, strategies,
and systems. You need more time for the hard-core information that
does the job. Don't you agree?
But,
there are other problems with the so-called seminars and "experts"
that gave them. In my younger years as I sat out in the audience,
I realized that I had better ideas that worked because I had made
them work. I also realized that I could present the information better
because, as a contractor, I understood the real problems contractors
where facing each day and I could communicate to them in their language
(although some contractors call me the "Tony Robbins" of
construction speakers for my high energy and dynamic content).
I
also realized that these so-called "experts" where really
flimflam artists who liked to hear the sound of their own voice and
where willing to speak for FREE!
Why
the "Institutional Thinking" of Construction Associations
and Meeting Planners Hurts Your Business.
Now
this is an area I am very knowledgeable about, so hear me out. My
education is in Civil Engineering and Business Management. I've owned
my own multi-million dollar construction business that had two P.E.'s
on staff, and I had the opportunity to "walk-away" from
that business comfortably at the age of forty-three. Most contractors
won't be able to do that after 43 years of hard work and long hours.
After
a couple of months, I quickly realized that I needed something to
do to keep my brain from turning to mush. So, I decided to become
a professional speaker and seminar leader ( I am a professional speaker
of the National Speakers Association and a certified seminar leader
of the American Seminar Leaders Association). I decided to give back
something of value that I couldn't find all my years as a contractor.
I decided to do the presentations that are filled with the right business
building information that every contractor is looking for!
Now,
I've spoken at the NAHB (If you attended Atlanta last year and came
to my presentation, it was standing room only!), AGC, NFBA, NGA, ABA,
and others. I also do my own seminars and I am an approved sponsor
by the State of Florida for the continuing education requirements
of Contractors and Electricians (Florida licensed Contractors and
Electricians must get 14 hours of continuing education in Florida
in order to renew their license). So here is the problem.
The
Associations and Meeting Planners that put on the conventions and
symposiums that you pay so dearly to attend, don't want to pay my
fee. You see, just like you, I am a professional and I do require
my price for doing the job. (Right now, I am one of the highest paid
speakers for the construction industry, but then again, I am the "only
Expert" who has this information) This "Wheelbarrow Mentality"
of the Associations and Meeting Planners is outrageous! They want
the speakers who are willing to speak for nothing, who can only build
a business in their dreams, and then, some associations, expect the
speaker to pay their own expenses to get to the event. Yet, they still
charge you FULL FEE!
I
might have been born at night, but I wasn't born LAST NIGHT!
I
am opposed to this for the following reasons.
One,
you lose because you're not getting the best information out there.
You're listening to someone who hasn't done it, couldn't do it, wouldn't
know how to do it if their life depended on it, and ultimately will
lead YOU down the wrong path!
Two,
the associations are ripping you off because you're paying to attend,
not only the convention, but the seminars and ... that's not giving
you your money's worth! They, the convention organizers are shorting
you big time! Your paying hard-earned dollars for something that they're
intentionally planning not to give you. All for the good of so called
"non-profit" organizations, not the fee paying members.
Now,
don't get me all wrong, there are some reputable organizations that
recognize the difference and are willing to pay for the right information.
I salute them for their integrity and loyalty to make certain their
members get the right business building information. It's the others
... the wheelbarrow mental midgets ... that are the problem, so beware.
Why
Institutional Thinking Is So Deadly!
Things
are changing faster than anybody expected (although, I've been telling
contractors for over two years to start preparing for an economic
downturn. I've warned my Golden Hardhat members and even wrote an
article "The FIVE Early Warning Signals of Your Next Economic
Downturn" over two years ago and it appeared in over 20 different
construction trade magazines and journals).
I
saw it coming because I've always had my ear close to the tracks ---
as they say in New England. I recognized all the right signals when
everyone else was merrily going along not paying attention.
Now
hear me when I say this.
If
you want to survive and prosper in the coming months, you better rethink
how you run your business ... because ... loose management operations,
ineffective systems and nonexistent processes will toll the death
bell and the grim reaper will be coming to collect your business!
This
is what you need to do!
To
survive and prosper in the coming months and probably years, you need
field tested and battlefield proven systems, processes, operating
procedures, ideas, strategies and methods that WILL work and WILL
guide your business through ANY economic storm. That is why I'm having
this Business Building Boot Camp to give YOU the ultimate business
development plan that provides the opportunity to get your hands on
the right information YOU need to survive and prosper!
Don't
let the cynical "Institutional Thinking" like ... I've always
done it this way, or I don't think it will help, or I'm not sure,
or any other negative "so-called" reason stop you from attending
this Boot Camp!
Come
to Lido Beach on December 1, 2 & 3, 2005 and GET the RIGHT business
